How to Find Radio Stations Near You:

You can find all of the radio stations that are within listening distance of any city in the United States. You must enter the full name of the city. You may also enter the name (or abbreviation) of a U.S. state territory (click here for list of state abbreviations).

You can now search for radio stations by Zipcode. Just type in a five-digit U.S. zipcode and Radio-Locator will find all of the radio stations that can be heard from that zipcode. Note that the "state" field will be ignored if you type a zipcode.

You can expand or narrow your search by clicking "city search" at the top-right of the page. You can choose which types of stations to search for and you can choose to find close stations, distant stations, or very distant (fringe) stations. The stations are selected based upon how far away they are from your location, their transmitting power, and their antenna height (Currently we can only find stations in the United States, but we will try to add stations in other countries if we can acquire the necessary databases).

You can also search for stations that are located within a specific number of miles from your location. Power and antenna height of the stations are ignored when you specify a number of miles.

The city lookup utilizes the Geographic Name Information System (GNIS) database, maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Please note that the GNIS database only lists cities in the United States. Databases from other countries may be added in the future.

The city search may try to guess the name of the city if you don't spell it quite right. For example, if you can't remember how many 'N's are in "Cincinnati", it should still give you the results you're looking for. If it can't quite figure out what city you're trying to find, it may offer you a few choices.

The zipcode lookup uses a zipcode database that may be a few years out of date. It should be 99% correct, but zipcodes change quite often. If you find any mistakes, please write to webmaster email address and we will take care of them.
