| Radio-Locator Help Page Licensed Stations In the United States, radio and television stations must be licensed by the Federal Communications Commision (FCC) to broadcast on the public airwaves. If a station has applied for a license, then the FCC may grant it a Construction Permit which is a temporary license. Licenses from the FCC last for seven years, after which they must be renewed. |
