| Radio Station Format Definitions: Adult Hits |
| "Adult Hits" is a new format in the U.S. that is somewhat of a hybrid of top-40 and classic hits. These stations play a wide variety of hits from the past 5 decades, marketed primarily at adults in their 30's and early 40's. Combining classic rock and pop hits from the 70s and 80s along with more contemporary hits of the 90's and today, most of these stations have a "We Play Anything" motto and pride themselves on their spontaneity and nonconformity to traditional radio formats. Many of these stations will occasionaly play soul, country, alternative, or funk hits, although the emphasis is on hits with an "Adult Contemporary" flavor.
