Among the most popular and oldest formats of radio, country stations have origins dating back to the start of radio in the 20's. There are a few different varieties of country stations:
  • Hot Country or Hit Country: Concentrates on the top hits of modern country music.
  • Classic Country: Airs popular country and western songs from the last three decades.
  • Modern Country: Plays contemporary country hits while mixing in older hits from the past 10-15 years.
